Bourbonic was my first venture, at least publicly, once I incorporated. Covid had given many people time to gain hobbies, and mine was apparently drinking. Not like that. Tasting is a classier way to put it. YouTube showed me all kinds of creators that were talking about bourbon and rye and all these other whiskies I was mostly unfamiliar with. Soon, my modest bar had grown to over 250 bottles and I was getting pretty good at picking out notes and pairing a drink with everything from music and books to video games and prison food. I started writing it down, in hopes that other newcomers to the hobby would find me. It's done pretty well, and we've been able to use it as a springboard into charity for local and national LGBTQ+ organizations, reconnecting with old friends, and a publishing company!
