Writing Projects

Turns out I like to write. When I started a whiskey blog, Bourbonic, I realized it was a good way to show some creativity, even if it was just mixing it into a bourbon review like an expertly crafted cocktail. During Covid I also found myself consuming a lot of books, which I've done all my life, but I began paying more attention to the structure and craft of storytelling, and eventually I decided to try it for myself. Having a healthy dose of imposter syndrome that somehow combined with supreme confidence, I decided to start my own publishing company. Why let someone else tell me if my work is any good, let the free market decide! It has certainly been a learning experience and challenge, but I want to use what I've learned to help others. We're always looking for creative people that want to get their stories and art into the world. Let us know how we can help!

What's Up With The Name?

In the Greek myth, Stheno was the older sister of Medusa. She's generally depicted with red snakes for hair. She was the fiercest of the gorgon sisters, said to have slain more men than both her sisters combined. Like Medusa, our modern vision of who these gorgons were are clouded by later stories and current pop culture. The oldest stories depict Stheno as a terrible monster with a scaly head, boar's tusks, bronze hands, a snake for a belt. I like to think in our world she would be an overprotective older sister that enjoys reading a nice book.
